About Me

Island Girl
It is often said that there are more Jamaicans outside of the country than inside the country. I am one such outside Jamaican…a Jamaican in the Diaspora. I am proud to be Jamaican. I love my country, the people, culture and beautiful environment. I hope this blog captures that love and concern for my country as I muse from a distance on the goings on there. I also hope to share my thoughts on life, random interests and future travels (somewhere in Japan first). My blog is called “Talk Jamaican” because in my time living overseas I’ve always found it interesting and amusing how many people have asked the island girl to talk Jamaican for them. Of course, they meant for me to bruk out in a likkle patwa and cuss a few claats for their amusement. True, that can be fun but I prefer to talk Jamaican as a person in the Diaspora sharing my point of view on life from that perspective. I hope you want to share my Journey with me.
